Mosquito Control District
The District is an independent special taxing district in the state of Florida. Its employees are tasked with the Mission of protecting public health and comfort by and through the control of disease-carrying and nuisance mosquitoes.
Contributing to a healthy, high quality of life in southwest Florida and beyond by upholding public trust, applying sound science, using best practices in mosquito control, economic responsibility, and an enduring search for solutions.

Our Mission
Whether you are a new resident or have been here all your life, you may have questions about Southwest Florida’s mosquitoes and the methods we use to #FightTheBite.
Following the 5 D’s is recommended to stay safe against mosquitoes and the diseases they can carry. Did you know there are over 40 different species in Collier County?
Looking for a community event display? Need a speaker for your HOA meeting? Is your group’s monthly meeting seeking a lively, informative presentation? We also have classroom lessons for selected grade levels.
Meeting the Mission
The District’s integrated mosquito management program is rooted in sound science, using tested and Federally approved control materials that address the mosquito’s entire life cycle.
Mosquito control is both an individual and public responsibility in SW Florida. From reducing the source of mosquitoes around homes and businesses to broad treatments to control mosquito-borne disease, the District’s integrated mosquito management program uses various methods.
